Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with Nanoleaf lights on the same network. The installer comes from the latest release on GitHub; this page always offers the current one.
github.com/relyTzzz/Betterleaf, run pnpm install, then pnpm dev to run it with hot reload, pnpm package for a standalone Betterleaf.exe you can pin, or pnpm package:installer for the same installer as on the left. The README covers the command-line tool and the simulator too.The installer is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen shows a notice the first time it runs: choose More info, then Run anyway. When GitHub reports the file's SHA-256, it is shown above so you can check what you downloaded: in PowerShell, Get-FileHash .\Betterleaf-Setup-*.exe.
Betterleaf speaks Nanoleaf's local API, the one every controller answers on port 16021 of your own network. The Light Panels (the original triangles, model NL22) and the Canvas (NL29) are the models it was built and tested against, including their two different streaming protocols and the Light Panels' Rhythm module. Shapes, Elements and Lines speak the same API and are known to the app, but have not been tried on real hardware; if you have one, a note on the support page about what worked and what did not is welcome.
The guide walks through every view: the light and room pages, the library, schedules, locks, app scenes and the command-line tool.
